Watertec legionella risk assessments and processes are acknowledged to be the best in the industry and subject to regular audit by the Legionella Control Association.
Not only do our assessments take into account latest national and international guidance, they are produced in a modular format specific to building use, include all water services and processes clearly identifying systems where there is a reasonably foreseeable legionella risk and produced in accordance with the requirements of British Standard BS:8580 Code of Practice for Legionella Risk Assessment.
Importantly, they also include assessment of the risks posed by other waterborne pathogens including Pseudomonas and other non-tuberculosis Mycobacterium species.
Our investment in ATP bioluminescence sampling technology allows us to provide cost effective microbiological testing of water systems and aerosol generators as an integral part of the assessment process including an evaluation of drinking water quality, outlet contamination and water hygiene issues associated with the installation and operation of vending and drinks machines.
Totable Viable Count (TVC) and legionella (LLP) sampling is also undertaken when assessing higher risk systems.
Outlet, pipework and sentinel outlet labelling is included.
Water services and processes are evaluated in comparison with current best practice and we provide detailed advice for system improvement, risk reduction, control measures, alternative strategies (for example installing chemical dosing techniques) reducing scalding risk and fitting backflow protection devices as required by the Water Fittings Regulations.
The assessment process not only identifies risk but offers practical and cost effective solutions for its elimination or control.
